Acceptable Use Policy

This policy defines how Velohost tools, services, APIs, and infrastructure may be used responsibly, lawfully, and fairly.

Effective date: 01 January 2026

1. Purpose of this policy

Velohost provides open, privacy-first internet infrastructure and diagnostic tools. This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) exists to protect platform integrity, availability, and lawful operation while enabling legitimate use.

This policy applies to all users, including individuals, organisations, automated systems, integrations, scripts, and APIs.

  • Infrastructure monitoring and validation
  • Security research and compliance checks
  • Automation, scripting, and API usage
  • Educational, research, and academic purposes
  • Commercial and internal operational use
  • AI, data analysis, and system integration workflows

Automated and programmatic access is allowed unless explicitly restricted on a specific service page.

3. Prohibited activities

You must not use Velohost services in a way that:

  • Violates applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringes the rights of others

  • Interferes with service availability or stability
  • Bypasses safeguards, limits, or protective mechanisms
  • Misrepresents outputs as guarantees or certifications

4. Security and abuse

Velohost tools may surface publicly observable security and configuration information. You must not use this information to exploit vulnerabilities, attack systems, or cause harm.

Responsible disclosure practices are encouraged where applicable.

5. Automation, APIs, and rate limits

Velohost supports automation and machine-driven use. To maintain platform stability:

  • Reasonable rate limits may apply
  • Excessive or abusive traffic may be restricted
  • Usage patterns may be temporarily throttled

Sustained high-volume usage beyond documented limits may require coordination with Velohost.

6. Content and outputs

Velohost outputs are informational only. You are responsible for how results are interpreted, presented, or acted upon.

Outputs must not be presented as legal advice, security certification, regulatory approval, or compliance guarantees.

7. Fair use and platform integrity

Velohost is designed to remain accessible and reliable for all users. Behaviour that degrades service quality for others may result in restrictions or suspension.

This includes deliberate overload, denial-of-service behaviour, or misuse of free resources.

8. Enforcement

Velohost may take reasonable steps to enforce this policy, including:

  • Rate limiting or traffic throttling
  • Temporary or permanent access restrictions
  • Blocking abusive sources
  • Reporting unlawful activity where required

Enforcement actions are proportionate and based on observed behaviour.
