Governance Policy
This policy explains how Velohost is governed, how decisions are made, and how accountability, independence, and responsible oversight are maintained.

1. Purpose of governance
Governance exists to ensure that Velohost operates responsibly, transparently, and in alignment with its stated principles.
This includes oversight of technical decisions, privacy posture, security practices, compliance obligations, and ethical considerations.
2. Ownership and control
Velohost is independently operated by Velohost UK Limited, incorporated in England (company number 16987207).
The platform is not owned, controlled, or influenced by hosting providers, infrastructure vendors, advertisers, or data brokers.
3. Decision-making structure
Strategic, technical, and policy decisions are made internally based on:
- Platform integrity and reliability
- User privacy and data minimisation
- Security and operational resilience
- Legal and regulatory obligations
- Transparency and neutrality
No external party has veto power or preferential influence over platform decisions.
4. Independence safeguards
Velohost does not accept payments, incentives, or partnerships that would compromise neutrality or influence tool outputs.
Commercial relationships are limited to infrastructure and service providers required to operate the platform.
5. Policy oversight and alignment
Governance includes regular review of all Trust Hub policies, including:

6. Risk management
Velohost identifies and manages risks relating to:
- Service availability and resilience
- Security vulnerabilities
- Data protection and privacy exposure
- Legal and regulatory change
Risk mitigation measures are proportionate to the scale and nature of the platform.

Velohost avoids use cases that would knowingly facilitate harm, abuse, surveillance, or unlawful activity.
Governance decisions take into account ethical implications, especially where automation or analysis could be misused.
