Law Enforcement & Government Requests
This policy explains how Velohost responds to requests from law enforcement agencies, regulators, and government authorities.

1. Core principles
Velohost is committed to protecting user privacy, minimising data collection, and operating transparently.
We do not provide voluntary, informal, or bulk access to data, systems, or infrastructure.
Any cooperation with law enforcement or government authorities occurs only where legally required and appropriately scoped.
2. What data Velohost has
Velohost is intentionally designed to minimise retained data.
As a result, Velohost generally does not hold:
- User accounts or persistent identities
- Query histories or analysis results
- Long-term IP address records
- Behavioural or usage profiles
- Customer content or private communications
Most tools operate in real time and discard data immediately after execution.
3. Types of requests considered
Velohost may receive requests including:
- Requests for user or activity data
- Preservation or retention requests
- Subpoenas, court orders, or warrants
- Regulatory or statutory information notices
Each request is reviewed individually for legal validity, jurisdiction, and scope.
4. Legal requirements
Velohost will only respond to requests that are:
- Issued by a competent authority
- Legally binding under applicable law
- Specific, targeted, and proportionate
Requests that are overly broad, unclear, or legally defective may be challenged or rejected.
5. Jurisdiction
Velohost operates under the laws of England and Wales.
Requests from authorities outside this jurisdiction must be accompanied by appropriate international legal instruments where applicable.
6. No direct system access
Velohost does not provide law enforcement or government agencies with direct, persistent, or real-time access to systems, infrastructure, or tooling.
There are no backdoors, privileged access mechanisms, or silent monitoring capabilities.
7. User notification
Where legally permitted and technically feasible, Velohost may notify affected users of requests for their data.
Notification may be delayed or prohibited by law in certain circumstances.
8. Emergency requests
Emergency requests claiming immediate risk to life or safety are assessed carefully.
Even in emergencies, Velohost does not expand data retention or bypass established safeguards beyond what is strictly required by law.
9. Transparency
Velohost aims to be transparent about how legal requests are handled.
Aggregate or high-level disclosures may be published where appropriate and lawful.
